Academic education has the top priority at Truida Kestell. We strive for the maximum development of every learner and this is achieved through our very high academic standards.
Teachers at Truida Kestell create a positive atmosphere where learning and quality teaching can take place. Additional Governing Body posts create a situation where maximum individual teaching can take place in smaller classes. Our teachers' passion for teaching and love for children makes them mentors that the children can look up to.
Truida Kestell School offers parents the opportunity to expose their children to a multicultural environment that is representative of South Africa.
This parallel medium school also offers on-site Supportive Education. Learners are supported through counselling, remedial educational, assistance, emotional support as well as therapy. Our “Moms who care” ensure that learners in need receive a meal every day. In addition our Remedial Department offers extra support through our support teaching classes which are available in Grade 2 and Grade 3. In these classes the teacher-to-child ratio is much smaller in comparison to other classes. Learners in these classes follow the same academic curriculum together with far more individual attention and emotional support.
We have psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists available at the school and they render their services to learners on a daily basis. We also facilitate the use of Tutors from Gr.1-7 to accommodate learners who need individual attention in the classroom.
Every term, recognition is given to the top academic achievers for the term when the Top Ten learners are announced.
